Select a brownish teak wood plank with good grains flow
and confirm before shaping to avoid regrets. In India we have very good
carpentry workers who can do a good wood work job. I polish the surface with Olive oil and using a cloth.
|
After polishing with sand paper assemble the top and bottom
teak wood pieces and fix them with an 8 inches Lazy Susan Bearings as per instructions.
Ask for Lazy Susan to be used for wooden base and not over glass. The designs are entirely different.
|
Select a ¾ inch and 15 inch diameter granite stone
with a good grain flow and colour of your choice without any surface defects. In
India we have very good and skilled granite workers. The base should be of the
same material .

The granite top can be used for making chapaties and
the likes. To avoid wear and tear due to friction , a thick plastic sheet cut
to size can be inserted between teak wood and granite.

A white 13 Inch - 8 mm thick circular chopping board is available in super
markets and I have the one from Anjali. The
chopping board is to be cleaned
frequently for a good maintenance of the surface for cleanliness.
|
For those who wish to chop the
vegetables in a standing position over the kitchen slab and who can afford a little bit luxury ,
I recommend an 1 inch chopping board. It is available in select outlets. I
purchased this board for Rs 350 in Pune.

The 15 inches stainless steel circular basin can be used in a variety of
applications like kneading wheat flour, cleaning cut vegetables etc. One such
use is pictured here. It is available in
super markets . Always carry a measuring tape. Do not be in a hurry.
|
The set can be used as a multi purpose chopping and
storage utility with a Lazy Susan revolving table . The cut pieces can be swiped through
the slot using a spatula . When one vegetable is over , the slot can be rotated
and making room for the next storage. The round centre steel container acts as support and also for storing cut vegetables.
|
You can enjoy the nicely and neatly chopped pieces offering
you a beautiful sight with the different colour combinations. This is the crux
of heart of fun cooking.

Dear Vaish
ReplyDeleteWell. This fixture is all in one. I have been designing, redesigning, updating and planning from all angles. The result is being very much appreciated by all those who come to our home. Some of them like Dhrubani have openly said they feel happy to work in the kitchen with all the usable gadgets handy. All of us are happy to use this. Sudha likes it a lot with the rotary aspect , without turning the chapati , she can rotate the table. I regularly polish the teak wood with Olive oil and it looks as if it has taken oil bath recently. If you like , I can make one for you.
With best wishes
